Our Focus: Commercial & Residential Solar Photovoltaic Development
GC Solar is a division of GCM Incorporated, an environmental engineering and general construction group. Our solar photovoltaic division is dedicated to helping commercial businesses and residences accomplish the following:
- Reduce greenhouse gas signatures to help relieve global warming
- Reduce or eliminate electrical bills using available renewable energy
- Reduce consumption of natural gas, coal & oil.
Solar is for everyone! Incentives are now available from utility companies, municipalities and the federal government mandated to purchase green energy. Latest technology offers solar cells at 18 percent efficiency for purchase and 43 percent efficiency in laboratory testing.
Join the solar surge that has already begun... Pepsi, Kohl's, Sam's Club, Google, Safeway, Whole Foods, US Postal Service, FED EX, Frito-Lay, Holiday Inn, and Macys are a few businesses who have done the numbers and determined solar saves big dollars.
Commercial Projects - GC Solar teams with solar system financial groups that can now fund entire commercial projects including design, supply and installation without upfront costs from our customers under a power purchase agreement (PPA). We supply the system that guarantees power for 20+years at a predetermined rate that is less than the customer's present utility rates. In addition, the business remains tied to the grid for nighttime, cloudy conditions and high energy usage needs.....a win-win opportunity for all.
Straightforward Process
After receiving your business's electrical usage, price per kW-hr paid and location, we perform the following scope of work to achieve your energy off-set goals.
LETS GO!
Scope of Work-
Evaluation Phase
- 1.0 - Owner Goals - We look at owner goals generally to obtain certified green status for marketing and sales or for capturing savings on electrical costs provided by the energy system or both.
- 2.0 - Site Assessment - We evaluate building location, building orientation, and surrounding influences
- 3.0 - Preliminary System Design - We calculate a preliminary system size, type, cell modules with inverter and controls
- 4.0 - Financial Analysis - Utilizing State-of-the-art software, we present cash flow/savings, loan inputs, rate of return, profit & loss etc.
- 5.0 - Presentation Of Analysis - After you have reviewed our printout analysis we receive, research and report answers to questions you may have
- 6.0 - Contract Documents - Once evaluation is complete contract agreements are now signed and financial arrangements made for obtaining equipment
-
Design & Construction Phase
- 7.0 - Final Design - Final system design (drawing details and technical specifications) is prepared for submission to the local jurisdictional authority
- 8.0 - Building Permit - Upon approval of the plan set by the jurisdictional authority, we direct our subcontractor electrical company to acquire your building permit
- 9.0 - Purchase System Equipment - Next we procure the design equipment and deliver to your site
- 10.0 - Install Equipment - GCS performs installation of the structural
components of your solar system using North American Board Of Certified
Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). We then team with subcontracted local
electrical contractors licensed, bonded and insured to complete the
installation.

- 11.0 - Test System - Our team then provides startup and testing immediately upon connection. We then monitor each system via the web as required.
- 12.0 - Prepare Operations and Maintenance Manual - Each system has its own manual to enable year after year low maintenance operation
- 13.0 - Present O&M manual to Owner along with operation and maintenance training.
